Opening Doors, Building Futures: Tornado Wire Marks National Manufacturing Day in Millom 2025

Tornado Wire will be proudly taking part in Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day 2025 by opening the doors to its Millom facility on Thursday 25th September. The event aims to give local students a hands-on introduction to careers in engineering and manufacturing.

The full-day event, held at Tornado Wire’s factory in Cumbria, will feature guided tours, live fencing demonstrations, marketing and business workshops, and interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and career ambition. Students will also have the chance to take part in a treasure hunt and Q&A sessions with Tornado team members.

Working closely with local colleges and a university, and supported by Marvelous Manufacturing's Angela Lawlor, the event is designed to build stronger links between education and industry. By showcasing real-world roles in manufacturing, Tornado hopes to challenge outdated perceptions and highlight the sector as a dynamic and rewarding career path.
