Black Powder-Coated i-Post® Dog Enclosure
Overview
Fencing contractor Pete Redgewell of PDR Contracting, alongside Joe, installed Tornado’s black powder-coated Pro-Strain i-post® and Pro-Strain® system with R13/192/8 netting to create a secure and stylish dog enclosure at a private residence in Redditch. The client wanted a durable metal post system that would complement the aesthetics of their driveway.
Challenge
Located along a private driveway, the enclosure needed to be both secure and visually appealing. The client opted for a metal post system due to timber treatment limitations - Creosote wasn’t suitable for public areas, and UC4 lacked longevity. Concerned about the industrial look of metal, they wanted a solution that looked attractive. They also needed reassurance that the fence would prevent smaller dogs from escaping.
Approach
Pete had a discussion with Tornado Wire about the i-Post and Pro-Strain system in a black powder-coated finish – an idea that had been previously discussed.
Highlights:
Fence Specification: R13/192/8 netting with black powder-coated Pro-Strain i-post® and Pro-Strain® system.
Installation Detail: The skirt was placed on the inside of the fence line to prevent small dogs escaping and provide peace of mind for the client.
Gate Design: The entrance gate was also powder-coated black to match the fencing system.
Result
The black powder-coated system blended with the property’s surroundings. The client was so pleased with the look, they said:
“We had the other side of the drive done in timber before, but this looks so attractive, we wish we’d done it all in black.”
