Tornado Wire Beaver Fencing
Tornado Beaver Fence
Four hundred years since the beaver was hunted to extinction in the UK,
2 Eurasian beavers were released into the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire in July 2018.
The beavers have been released in the hope they will build dams and create ponds on Greathough Brook,
which feeds into the River Wye.In 2012 the villages of Lydbrook and Upper Lydbrook were badly flooded.
The government hopes that introducing beavers into a 6.5 hectare enclosure on the forestry commission
land will help hold back the waters in a more natural way and improve biodiversity.
Potentially holding back 6,000 cubic metres of water to prevent huge floods.
