Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Tornado Wire. Gold accreditation on We invest in people is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places Tornado in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”
Commenting on the award, Kenny Campbell Managing Director of Tornado Wire said: “We are immensely proud of being able to retain IIP We invest in people Gold for another three years. To be able to do so with improved scores in every indicator and benchmarks that were described as exceptional for a manufacturing business, despite all the disruption of the pandemic and Brexit, is very satisfying.
Having been IIP accredited since 2002, our systems for empowering and developing staff are well embedded. The result is we have a very dedicated workforce who consistently deliver the high levels of quality and service we demand and our customers expect.
We have invested a lot in plant and buildings over the last few years to significantly increase capacity. Throughout this period of continuous upheaval our staff have adapted and embraced all the changes and we are very grateful to them for their dedication and commitment.”
We believe that the success of your organisation begins and ends with people. If we make work better for everyone, we make work better for every organisation. And if we do that… we make society stronger, healthier and happier.

Investors in People is delighted to award Tornado Wire Ltd, the UK’s leading manufacturer of agricultural wire fencing based in Warwickshire, Cumbria and Perthshire, We invest in people, gold accreditation.
Gold accreditation means that you’ve got the policies in place but more than that, it means everyone – from MD to apprentice takes ownership for making them come to life.
Only 17% of our accredited organisations achieve Gold.
It was particularly notable that Tornado retained this award in the middle of a pandemic. Not only that, but there was also an improvement on every single measure compared with our results from 3 years ago with all of these scores being above the average for other companies on the IIP database. Over the last years over £10m has been invested in buildings, machinery, information systems and training but most importantly in people.
